Recent Developments in European Patent Law and Practice

--- The EPC has its biggest change for 35 years: what it will mean for patent owners. What key cases have come out from the Boards of Appeal in the last year or so? ----

Patent practice in Europe is changing considerably due to implementation of EPC2000 (the first major revision of the EPO for 35 years) and the London Agreement . The talk will discuss how these changes can be taken advantage of by patent owners and patent practitioners. The talk will also discuss important developments in EPO Board of Appeals case law relating to pharmaceuticals and biotechnology practice (Refer to this) . Practice of the EPO and the USPTO in some areas will be compared ( Refer to comparision table ).
